I used a number of your quotes

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Hi, This last Sunday I got to give a talk in Church.  I used a number of your quotes.  They really helped me get my message of repentance and forgiveness across to the ward.  Talking is not my forte.  Being in the bishopric means every third Fast Sunday I have to conduct and of course sometimes I’m asked to speak w/o time to prepare. Your service is truly a God send.  Thanks.
I’m sure Moses wouldn’t have needed Aaron if you’d have been around in his day.

Dear Denis,

I became aware of your service almost a year ago, when a stake newsletter came out with a story about your e-mail quotes. I just wanted to thank you for these quotes. They are an inspiration for us all. Keep up the good work. May the Lord bless you in your efforts to share the gospel in all countries.

Thank you,

I needed to serve the Lord

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Re: “If we do not do our duty in regard to missionary service, then I am convinced that God will hold us responsible for the people we might have saved had we done our duty.” –Spencer W. Kimball (Ensign, October 1977, page 5) Dear Denis, This message hits home I had a nightmare about it and now have commited to serve a mission. I am 23 years old and have been a member since I was 16. I never felt like I needed to serve the Lord in this capacity. I am hoping to save enough money to leave next September. I really appreciate the service you provide to the latter day saints as well as non members. Keep up the good work!

Hello,
I am Geni. I work for CES in Madrid, Spain, as secretary for the Country Director.and work in the Service Office Building. Some of the CES Coordinators are subscribed to your messages and one of them told me that it would be a great idea to have messages related to CES, seminay & Institute or just messages that are inspiring,  that we could use with students, teachers, parents, leaders etc. So I am turning the same question to you, Do you have special messages, stories CES related that we could subscribe to?
Thank you so much for your time, I enjoyd the story of the ROOM that you sent  feb, 25.

From Taiwan

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Hello Mr. Nurmela:
I am Scott from Taiwan. I started reciving the “WOW” since last month. And I found that it’s really good to me. I know there are a lot of meanings of those “WOW” letters. And I am really appricated those people who wrote these sentence cause some of them really means something to me. Everytime when I read those letters, I feel grateful and placeful. It comes from my heart. It sounds like the voice which is telling me something I may lose or never had again. It teached me a lot. I want to say ” Thank You”. with my best wish for you and your family.(I hope you can read my English. My English is not good enough. I am working on that!)
Have an nice day!

From China

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Dear Mr. Nurmela,
God bless you.

I have received some of your daily quoted words and I like them. I am moved by your warm heart to spread God’s message and the firm faith to do the holy work overcoming so many afflictions.

I am a Chinese Christian, wanting to do something for the Gospel. I send some articles about the Bible to you and hope they can bring you some light and energy. I want you know, no matter what you meet, happiness or sadness, suffering or comfort, abuse or praise, in the place far away from you, there are many people pray for you, may God’s name be gloried everywhere.

If I can do something, please feel free to make me know and I will try my best to do for the Gospel.
Yours Lily

From Russia

Dear Brother Denis,

I’ve been your subscribed for quite a while, I believe that for more then a year, but never actually did sent you words of my appreciation. You might remember me, few times we’ve chatted on the net, and I had few questions to you before. But I never said words of thanks to you, and should first apologize to you for my selfishness.

I live in Moscow, Russia. I’ve been member of the church since it’s beginning, when missionaries been sent to Russia in beginning of 90ties. I’ve had different kinds of callings. For last year most of my callings in church were connected to the teaching, and I was teaching and giving talks on almost every Sunday of last year, as well as sometimes during the week. I want to thank you for your quotes, for all this wonderful work you do here on the net. I want to tell you that I been using your quotes in most of my lessons and talks; after revising scriptures, few books and manuals I usually use, I always went to your site, and checked out all the quotes you have on that particular topic. Your search engine always was wonderful source of help and inspiration.

Besides, many of my friends, brothers and sisters in church received answers to their questions, courage in their trials after receiving some quotes you’ve been sending before. Thank you! We all love you, we all love your service, and I always was praying that you could have enough strength and patience in doing your uneasy work. May Lord bless you and your family.

Keep up good work! I know you don’t have many Russian subscribers, but if someday you’ll be planning to send out quotes in Russian, always remember me as volunteer.
Sincerely,
your Russian brother in Christ,
Ivan Makarov

It’s refreshing to find…

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Just thought you’d like to know how much one of your non-LDS subscribers is enjoying the WOW mail list. So much of what I read on the net is depressing, disheartening, cynical, or downright hostile; it’s refreshing to find your list’s encouraging, touching, and inspirational posts daily in my in-box. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.
Peace, love, and blessings from your sister in the compassionate Christ,
Jill

I am returning to church this Sunday…

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Denis-
I have been receiving your daily quotes for a while now. I really enjoy them. I am an inactive member so this has been my limited exposure to the church other than old friends and a wonderful visiting teacher. I am returning to church this Sunday with the help of that visiting teacher. I send your messages on each day to a friend of mine. She really enjoys them.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Marie

I can Testify of it’s Truth

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I myself am not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I can testify of its truth. I am 17 years old, but due to the restraints set by my parents I cannot join the Church until i am legally an adult. I’ve wanted to be a member since I was 14, and i’ve struggled through tough times, but I love my family and the Church. I’ve been able to attend the 6 missionary lessons, when my friend’s sister was taking them, and I’ve been able to attend church (at the chapel) 5 times in my life. I know that the Church is true, i wish you the best in spreading the Gospel, because it can be hard at times, but it’s well rewarding.
